Parque das Nações, Lisboa
WDL - Brand & Retail
Gaijin Sushi Bar is a Sushi restaurant with a premium offer, prepared by a renowned chef in Portugal and with excellent geographical locations.
This concept had its first location in Paço de Arcos, where it became well known for its high quality dishes. During its expansion to the city of Lisbon, right in the heart of Parque das Nações, the invitation to WDL was extended to rebranding the brand, the project and implementation of a new space, designed from scratch, that reflected in itself all quality and comfort values of this brand.
We proceeded to update the graphic image of the Identity, maintaining the already recognized symbol of Carpa, an element very associated with the Paço de Arcos restaurant, and we performed a debugging of all elements.
The name Gaijin is a Japanese word, typically associated with a foreigner in Japan, who is almost a pseudonym of the chef who signs the dishes in this restaurant. As such, its use as a character of strong visual expression, in its traditional Japanese form, seemed essential to us as an identifying element of the brand. Thus the new logo emerged, associated with a neutral chromatic pallet, with textures and cold tones, which refer to the traditional Japanese, but with elements of modernity.
Using the symbols and references of the new Gaijin identity, a diverse number of graphic pieces were developed to support the communication of the entire restaurant, such as business card, van design, flyers, digital voucher, menus, price list, roll ups and indoor awnings.
In the digital aspect of brand communication, WDL designed the layout of the new website in both mobile and laptop versions.
